"Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God, and he who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God; for God is love." (1 John 4:7-8)
Today is the great Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Heart of Jesus is the symbol of the greatest Love the world has ever known and will ever know. His Heart forever beats for you and me, crying when we cry, laughing when we laugh.
The Sacred Heart of Jesus is God's love song to us, forever courting and serenading, "Come to me, all of you who are tired and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." (Mt 11:28)
Jesus promises that whoever comes to Him will find rest. This promise becomes very real, physical and joyful when we say Yes to Jesus and be His heart and arms to those who seek Him.
Let us reunite with our lover at Holy Mass today and assure Him that we love Him too.
PRAYER TO THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS:
"O most Sacred Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore You, I love You, and with lively sorrow for my sins I offer You this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to Your will. Grant, Good Jesus, that I may live in You and for You. Protect me in the midst of danger. Comfort me in my afflictions. Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, Your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Amen."
