March Wins ❤️

This month has been difficult. But it made me reflect a lot. And so for my month-end post, let me share three decisions I'm so grateful I did. 1. Voting for Vico Sotto. ❤️ Seeing how he leads now makes me feel proud. I am no longer a resident of Pasig but I am truly happy for all the Pasigueños. They deserve a great leader. We all do. Kudos too to all the public servants and elected officials who are truly stepping up and doing their jobs responsibly and with compassion.  2. Sending our parents to Iloilo. ❤️ We were living together for more than 25 years, but in 2014, we decided it's time to part ways. Papa and Mama went home to Iloilo while Arnold and I stayed in Cainta. It was difficult, but now that I think about it, that experience taught us (my brother and I) to be independent. We learned, by practice, how to cook proper meals (before we were just our parents' apprentice), do the chores, buy stuff, etc. As for our parents, I am relieved that they are now in Il...

February Wins ❤️

So we're on the last day of the second month and just like last month, there's also a lot to be thankful for. ❤️ Let's begin with the basics - the gift of life and health. 🙂 Despite my frequent visits to the hospital (just like today), I didn't experience anything serious enough to land me on a hospital bed. So I take it as a positive sign that I am truly on my way to healing and wholeness. Thank God for the everyday strength and protection not just for me but for my husband and the rest of our families as well. ❤️ Next is my career. I'm loving my progress at work so far. I am able to finish what I commit and sometimes more. 🙂 I am also grateful to my manager for enrolling me in trainings and workshops that are enriching not just intellectually, but also emotionally. 🙂 Thank God for the gift of work and the opportunities to grow in the different aspects of life. ❤️ And of course there's the beautiful gift of marriage (and relationships). As days...

January Wins ❤️

It's just the first month of the year but SO MUCH has happened it feels like it's not just 31 days. But despite everything, there's still a lot to be grateful for because God is an awesome and faithful God. ❤️ Source: GodTV.com And so tonight, I'd like to focus on our wins for the beginning of 2020... 1. I reached my target weight of 40kgs (because I only weighed 38kgs at the start of the month, I weighed even less back in December). 🙂 2. I am now able to poop smoothly without taking any laxative. I can't tell the details but believe me it's really a big win for me (and for us), especially after the surgery. 🙂 3. I did not file any SL for this month! (After being on medical leave for the whole month of December, I swear this is a major achievement!) It helped that the hospital is just a tricycle ride away from our home and a bus ride away from our office. I can easily go to work after my consultations and procedures. 🙂 4. I finished ...

Happy Birthday ❤️

Last Tuesday, I turned 33 (though I'm still feeling 22 😅) and it's my first time to celebrate my birthday as Paolo's wife. 😊 So today , allow me to share what it's like to spend my special day as a married woman. When I got out of the bathroom, Pao was already holding this beautiful cake. 😍  Good thing  I didn't open the ref the night before. Otherwise, I would have spoiled his surprise. 😁 But because my husband is such a genius, may "Plan B" daw siya. Thus, the note. 😂 We had a delightfully sweet breakfast. 🥰 While I was washing the dishes, my husband was busy installing our towel rack. Then I did the laundry while he was installing the window blinds. For lunch, I decided to cook noodles (for long life 😁). And my "misis" heart was very happy when Paolo commented, "para akong nasa restaurant." 🥰🥰🥰 You see my husband is the better version of myself, and it's not an exaggeration to...

Seven Reasons Why ❣️

It's been seven months since I married the man of my dreams and every day, I discover something about him that makes me fall in love even harder. Today, let me share seven (of the many) reasons why I always say that I married the best man. 😊 One of our ninangs said that we must always have that "bilib" for our partner. And everyday, Paolo shows something really admirable. I just hope and pray I am able to do the same. ❣️ 1-3: He cares for all living things - humans, plants, and animals.  He cooks our meals and prepares our baon  for work. He buys me things he knows I need even if I don't ask him to. He looks not just after my welfare but he is also genuinely concern about everyone we come in contact with. He is full of gentleness and compassion. He doesn't want to cause any inconvenience to anyone. Most of the time, he gives way. He's a defensive driver, a reliable friend, a loving son and sibling, a passionate and practical man. More than any...

Labor Day Honor List ♥

I've done tons of projects in my life but one I consider the biggest (so far) is our wedding. 😍 Yey! Finally, I'm sharing about it after five months!!! 😊 To be honest, I still feel like it just happened yesterday. And until now, I'm still overwhelmed at how the Lord worked through the people around us to make it such a beautiful occasion. It wasn't my "dream" wedding. But it's everything that I needed it to be. ❤️ And so today, on Labor Day, and on the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker, allow us to honor the beautiful souls who worked so hard to make our wedding as perfect as it could be. Ceremony and Reception : Sta. Maria Della Strada Parish Church Thanks to Ate Tere and everyone in the Parish Office! And of course to Rev. Fr. Dante Martinez for saying yes to be our officiating priest. 😊 We will always remember your advice, Fr. Dante. ❤️ Flowers:   L&R Flowershop Thanks to Ryan and his team for accommodating all our requests...

Dear February, Thank You for the Love ❤️

February just went by so quickly but before I say goodbye to the Love Month, let me first share three (of the many reasons) why I thank the Lord for giving me the Love of my life, my wonderful husband. 😊 1. While praying after receiving Holy Communion, I was not able to hold back my tears. After the mass, my husband asked, "may kasalanan ba ako?" I swear he was super cute. 😍 He was so worried he might have done or said something I did not like. I smiled and told him the reason why I got a little emotional (and just to set things straight, it wasn't because of him 🙂). I thank the Lord for giving me a husband who pays attention to my thoughts and emotions and makes sure he does nothing that would upset me (and if he does, he'd quickly apologize and make up for it). ❤️ 2. A friend had to sleep over due to personal commitments. My husband set up the bed and made sure everything is ready before our guest arrives. Also, there was a time when one of our housemate...

January: "Blessed" is an Understatement

Can you believe it's already the last day of January?  Oh how time flies! And if I were to summarize my whole month in one word, "blessed" is an understatement! Indeed I am! Thank you for this very affirming calendar, Ate Des! 😃 I am BEYOND BLESSED this month! The Lord has been soooooo good to me that I'm actually wondering what I did right to deserve everything that I have now. I am just so grateful! And God just proved once again that He cannot be outdone in generosity.  This month has truly been a time for new beginnings .  A lot of my prayers from the previous years were finally answered. ♥ I also got to finally do and accomplish some of my long-time resolutions such as attending the bootcamp and be serious about getting fit and healthy. In fact, I just came from the fitness center last night. 😁💪 God has been surprising me in a major way from the beginning of January up until today. And I know there's more to come. 😊 M...
