Seven Reasons Why ❣️

It's been seven months since I married the man of my dreams and every day, I discover something about him that makes me fall in love even harder. Today, let me share seven (of the many) reasons why I always say that I married the best man. 😊

One of our ninangs said that we must always have that "bilib" for our partner. And everyday, Paolo shows something really admirable. I just hope and pray I am able to do the same. ❣️
1-3: He cares for all living things - humans, plants, and animals.
  • He cooks our meals and prepares our baon for work. He buys me things he knows I need even if I don't ask him to. He looks not just after my welfare but he is also genuinely concern about everyone we come in contact with. He is full of gentleness and compassion. He doesn't want to cause any inconvenience to anyone. Most of the time, he gives way. He's a defensive driver, a reliable friend, a loving son and sibling, a passionate and practical man. More than anything, he is a better version of myself. It's true that everything I can do, he does better. 😊

Since I can't eat ordinary sugar-based, dairy-based desserts, we make our own. Thanks to my husband who is so good in the kitchen. 😊

  • I mentioned he's practical, right? Because he is, just recently, he started building our little "farm." He planted tomatoes, ginger, garlic, and onion - the basics. He nurtures them, waters them, and checks on them everyday. 😍 (see photos of my handsome farmer and his babies below 😁)

  • There's this stray cat who eventually became our adopted pet, thanks to my husband who feeds him everyday. He even took the initiative to designate one storage for all leftover food for our furry friend. 😁
Muningning 😍

4: He takes charge. He takes the initiative (in Tagalog, may kusa). During the turnover of our condo unit, he brought with him a measuring tool. He took all the measurements we need to come up with a plan (which he also did, by the way). Even if we only had a small unit, I'm confident we'll be able to build a beautiful home because my husband is in charge. 😍

Engineer na, architect pa. 😍

5. He knows our priorities and manages our finances well. I know it's supposed to be a girl thing, but like I said, everything I can, he does better! We could choose a bigger condo unit, but that would also mean a bigger loan, and my husband doesn't like loans. He truly practices "living within one's means." And every time we need to make a decision on what to buy or where to spend our money on, we would always go for what we only need and what we can only afford. And I know it will always be that way. 🙂

We have this shared worksheet where everything we need for moving in is listed (which ones to buy, which ones to sell, which ones to transport, budget, etc.)

6. He is resourceful. He finds ways. He makes things happen, and he makes things easier for me. Remember the plants? He actually began by planting them on plastic bottles. 😁 There was also a time when I ran out of space to hang our washed clothes on. Still, my husband found a way. It was pretty hilarious, but it actually worked, and that's what's important! 😁

7. He supports me in ALL of my endeavors. Last week, I received an invitation to give a talk to a retreat for the single ladies in my community. The invitation came just a few days before the retreat and so I was really hesitant to accept it. Not to mention that we also had prior commitments on that same day. So I looked for other possible speakers, while also preparing just in case nobody else would be available. My husband's insights helped me a lot. He made me remember my past experiences which I could share to my sisters to assure them that things will get better, that hurts and pains are not the end of the story. He also gave highly-relatable examples. And so yes, I did give the talk (Praise God for His grace and mercy!). 🙂See Paolo is not from the community, but every time I need to do something for SFC (or CFC in general), he's with me 101%! Also, he helps me sell Human Nature products! In fact, my first orders for this month are actually from his officemate. 😊

Buena Mano for July 😍

I could go on forever sharing about the goodness of the Lord through my husband. I still can't help but wonder what I did right to deserve such man, but I'm truly grateful that God allowed me to share this beautiful journey with no less than the best! Pao and I are two imperfect people, but together, we're a perfect match, and I wouldn't want to do life with anybody else. ❣️

Happy Seventh Heaven, my love! ❤️ You are sent from heaven. ❣️

Always and forever you and me. ❤️

Understanding Lupang Hinirang

Every Filipino knows Lupang Hinirang (though some know it better as " Bayang Magiliw "). How can you not know it when it is the national anthem of the Philippines? But do we really mean the lyrics that we sing? Do we understand it in the first place?  Photo Credit:  http://diazi.ism-online.org This video has gone viral weeks ago. This afternoon, I shared it to my teammates, and one commented, "Yun pala yun . Ngayon ko lang naintindihan."   He immediately downloaded it and converted to MP3.   So for those who have not seen it, once again, here is Joey Ayala's version of Lupang Hinirang. And I agree, you would never want to sing it in another way. (But that's just me. :D) This rendition is simply beautiful. Truly Filipino. :) Of course that doesn't mean we need to revise our national anthem but maybe we can consider about correcting the way we sing it (read: proper pronunciation). Jesus Week 2015: A Time To HEAL ♥

I had the best, most meaningful HOLY WEEK ever, so far (the best is yet to come!). :) Thanks to Joy who shared the Jesus Week poster on Facebook. It was God's personal invitation, and I couldn't thank Him enough for the grace that He also gave me to respond. Everything is grace. It was not just my personal decision to join. It was God's grace that allowed me to.  So how did it go? Well, as what I have told my friends, it was amazingly beautiful! The experience was priceless! On Holy Monday, I posted Fr. Jerry Orbos' acronym for HOLY WEEK . I experienced all of that and more! :)  I won't be able to share everything as there is just a lot of personal, intimate encounters with the Lord. But if I were to summarize, it was a time for me to HEAL. :)  H alt . Indeed, I was able to stop and just rest in the Lord. Before leaving Manila, I have already told myself that this retreat will be all about Jesus ( Jesus Week nga e :D ). No emails, no texts, no calls. I

Thank You, Lord! :)

It has been a long and stressful day (the past three days have been lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng and stressssssssssssssssssssssssssssssful), but You are just so amazing, Lord that I couldn't sleep without telling You how grateful I am. :) Thank You, Lord for the miracle that You did yesterday. Break even and more. :) Thank You, Lord for the laughter and stories shared during the post-mission meeting with Team Thailand. :) Team Thailand - Princesses from SFC Metro Manila :) Thank You, Lord for Lawrence. He is just the (almost) perfect man. He has his flaws, but they are acceptable; he makes mistakes, but they are all forgivable. There are a lot of men but there can never be anyone else. He's really the one. And You know it very well. :) ♥ Nemo. Love. ♥ Thank You, Lord for giving me strength and endurance each day. :) Thank You, Lord for the short but restful sleeps. :) Thank You, Lord for every waking moment and every opportunity that You give

The Holy Spirit*

*Cluster 4 Household Topic Reflections from John 15:26-16:4 True friendship is strengthened in adversity. Jesus offers His disciples the best and truest of friends. Who is this promised friend?  Jesus calls the Holy Spirit our Counselor and Advocate (also translated Paraclete or Helper). Counselor is a legal term for the one who will defend someone against an adversary and who guides that person during the ordeal of trial. The Holy Spirit is our Advocate and Helper who brings us safely through the challenges and adversities we must face in this life. As Jesus approaches the hour that He was to be glorified - through His death on the cross and His resurrection - He revealed more fully to His disciples the person and the role of the Holy Spirit. What does Jesus tell us about the Holy Spirit?  First, the Holy Spirit is inseparably one with the Father and the Son. It is the Holy Spirit who gives life - the very life of God - and who kindles faith in hearts receptive
