Delays Are Never Denials :)

So it's 2018! Happy New Year everyone!!! 🎆 I'm writing this while waiting for the flight back to Manila. As usual, Cebu Pacific apologizes for the delayed flight, which served as the inspiration for this post.  DELAYS ARE NOT DENIALS.  How many times have we heard/read this line? Well, for the nth time, I'm sharing this because as I wait here for the delayed flight, I can't help but remember the delays in my life, the moments of waiting, which either led me to beautiful encounters or meaningful experiences; delays which turned out to be blessings in disguise.  Let's not go farther.  I was able to spend the New Year with my family because of a delayed flight back in October. Our original flight was cancelled due to the incident that happened on the same night that I arrived here in Iloilo. Thank God there were no casualties. And thank God I wasn't on that flight.  Our flight back to Manila was rerouted to Roxas, Capiz. And it was still ...

Daily Sufficient Grace ♥

Let me tell you a story... of God's goodness and faithfulness.  Ever since I joined the community back in 2006, I have not missed a household meeting for no valid reason. And by valid, I meant a matter-of-life-and-death situation, I'm sick, or I'm somewhere outside Metro Manila.  Last night, I had all the valid excuses to skip the household meeting:  I have an important report to finish at work.  It's the least wonderful time of the month (aka dysmenorrhea strikes again). Traffic is horrible, especially along Ortigas Avenue Extension, and I swear it's deadly.  But no matter how hard Satan tried to convince me not to attend, I still willed  to be in the household. You know something (or someone) really matters to you if you're willing to fight for it (them). And the household meeting is THAT important to me.  So I decided to use  Angkas . And just right after we turned right to Ortigas Avenue, God has already assured me of Hi...

Jesus Week 2017: A Reminder to REST ♥

For the second time, I was able to attend the Holy Week retreat organized by the RA sisters. And it was purely grace from the Lord. I remember it was the first week of March when I asked Sr. Maitel if I could still join this year's Jesus Week (my first Jesus Week was in 2015 in San Simon, Pampanga). She told me to text her again on March 10 to see if there are still available slots. I understand that they give priority to first-timers. And so I really begged God to allow me to spend my Holy Week with Him in the Jesus Week. Thankfully, my prayer was answered with a YES. :) But come Holy Monday, something came up which made me think again if I would still go. The retreat will start on Holy Wednesday. By Holy Tuesday, I was still unsure. Divine intervention came through my angel on earth. So I was able to go. Up in the hills, away from the noise and chaos of the city, I spent my Holy Week in silence, in an intimate vacation with my God. Assumption Sabbath P...

Sticker: A Beautiful Story of Waiting ♥

I booked a Grab to the Quezon City Central Post Office where I would claim my long overdue order from a shop abroad. After verifying my drop-off location, the driver asked, "CFC ka po, Ma'am?" I answered, "SFC po Kuya pero sa CFC po ako nag-wo-work." "Ahh. CFC din po ako dati." He replied. And the story begins. Tito Ed graduated from the Christian Life Program (the entry point to CFC) sometime in 2002 (actually, he wasn't sure if it was 2002 or 2003). At that time, he was actively serving in their parish in Fairview. He and his wife are no longer active members of the community but according to him, he has one fond memory about CFC that he will bring with him for as long as he lives. During their CLP graduation, they were given a Bible, a songbook, and a sticker (yep, I also got those items when I graduated from the CLP). He still have them up to now. But the sticker is special. When Tito Ed got it, he made a promise not to use i...
