My intention was just to have him sign the requests for payments but when I came to his area, he began to ask. And I don't know what's with him but when he asks, I couldn't help but just tell him what's wrong. He is not God but he knew even before I tell him, He just needed to hear it straight from me. Being the ever-dependable Kuya that he is, he gave me words of wisdom, inspiration, and encouragement. And I love it when he says, "sinasabi ko ito bilang kuya mo." I can feel the sincerity and concern. He's one person I can easily cry to and he would just come to me, hug me, and say, "O tama na ang iyak, malaki ka na." But of course, my closest friends would know that when tears fell down my eyes, they really pour. In other words, mahirap akong patahanin. Thank God there's a prayer area where I can kneel before the crucifix and just cry my heart out. But the funny thing is, I realized I wasn't able to bring a handkerchief. And for the nth time, I sensed God telling me, "Don't worry, My beloved daughter. I am here to wipe away your tears." And nothing felt better than that.
When I came back to my desk, I saw this:
It came from a brother who visited the office today to order for his RFID. He was about to leave but to my surprise, he got out of his car and handed the doughnut to me. It was my first time to receive a J. Co doughnut, I never bought one because I know how much it's worth. But I had it for free. And all the more I realized that it came from my Jesus (Jesus Co. :D) and just like His love, it's something that I can't afford, but it's given for free! :)
When I opened my email, I saw a message from a sister, again, about RFID. What caught my attention was her signature which contains this powerful statement:
"A smile is something that changes lives and creates relationships. A smile can start the best friendship of your life. Even if you’re sad, smile. It might be hard but the more you smile the happier you’ll be. You begin to convince your heart that you are happy…and eventually you truly will be."
This day is about remembering our so many reasons to smile, the first and the greatest reason is, we are loved by a great and faithful God! And He never fails to make us feel special, assure us that He is just there, and show us how much He cares through the people we encounter every single day. :)
