Diary Of A Dog: #MYFAVORITE

Ever heard of the Diary of a Dog? How about the Diary of a Cat? Click here to read. :)

I first heard of them during the Beloved MMC in Subic. Thanks to Fr. Noel Nuguid who was so effective in delivering the humor and the lesson behind the two diaries. :)

Today (and everyday), I choose to be a dog. And this is my diary:

5:00AM - Woke up due to severe back pains. Managed to sleep again. Thank You, Lord for the gift of sleep and rest. :) My favorite!

7:00AM - Woke up again due to intense back pains and difficulty in breathing. But was still able to get up and live the day. Thank You, Lord for the gift of life. :) My favorite!

8:00AM - Had champorado for breakfast. Took medicines afterwards. Thank You, Lord for the gift of food. :) My favorite!

9:00AM - Discussed a few things with my parents and readied myself for a long day. Thank You, Lord for the gift of family and home. :) My favorite!

10:00AM - Left the house and went to Dr. Mariano's clinic for follow-up consultation. Thank You, Lord for the gift of doctors who are instruments of Your healing and grace. :) My favorite!

11:00AM - Walked from Sta. Lucia Mall to Mariano Clinic in Dela Paz (and back) because I have limited funds. Thank You, Lord for the gift of exercise and clear skies. :) My favorite!

11:30AM - Was told by Dr. Mariano that Papa needs to undergo ultrasound of the whole abdomen to find out the cause of his elevated diaphragm and liver, but based on the results of his 2D echo, his heart remains strong despite the recent attacks. Thank You, Lord for the gift of health and resistance. :) My favorite!

12:00PM - Lunch at home. Thank You, Lord for the gift of time to eat with the family. :) My favorite!

2:00PM - Went to G. Liner office in Taytay to submit medical results needed to process Papa's sick leave. Thank You, Lord for the gift of company benefits. :) My favorite!

3:00PM - Back home to update database for the CFC Mission Core Gathering this Sunday. Downloaded and installed TeamViewer to remotely access the server at the Global Mission Center. Thank You, Lord for the gift of technology. :) My favorite!

4:00PM - Had champorado for merienda while waiting for my downloads to be completed. Thank You, Lord for the gift of patience and multi-tasking. :) My favorite!

5:00PM - Went to Rosario Church to meet with Divine. Thank You, Lord for the gift of friendship! :) My favorite!

5:30PM - Availed the Sacrament of Reconciliation Thank You, Lord for the gift of mercy. :) My favorite!

6:00PM - Received the Body and Blood of Christ in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. Thank You, Lord for the gift of faith and sacraments. :) My favorite!

7:00PM - Went to Holylife Hospital to get my ECG and XRay results. Thank You, Lord for the gift of radiologists. :) My favorite!

7:30PM - Still couldn't believe my scoliosis progressed. At least now I know the reason behind this severe (and worsening) pain I'm suffering now. Thank You, Lord for the gift of knowing! :) My favorite.

8:00PM - Was with Ate Chie beside the pool at One Oasis. There I cried out my frustrations and sama ng loob. How gullible was I to believe that it will never progress. Then Ate Chie sweetly said, "Wala tayong magagawa, Aiza. Maganda ka. Sakit ng magaganda yan." Believe me, that was really comforting. I was affirmed of my beauty and at the same time, I was reminded that I am God's beloved and He will never allow my beauty to fade. Thank You, Lord for the gift of sisterhood and affirmation. :) My favorite!

9:00PM - Lawrence called up to check on me. He attempted to calm me but I was inconsolable. He then sent a text message telling me that he will be with me in this and he will help me find a rehab doctor. Thank You, Lord for the gift of companionship. :) My favorite!

9:30PM - Went to Mai Leaf to get the RFID reader from Kuya Alain. I had nothing to spend and I almost pitied myself for not being able to buy a milk tea (my favorite). But I realized I had a complimentary sandwich there because I already filled up the second row of my loyalty card. And so I presented it to the service crew who at first told me that they ran out of sandwiches, but by some divine intervention, he immediately went out to buy buns just to be able to give me my free sandwich! Thank You, Lord for the gift of people who makes me feel special everyday. :) My favorite!

10:00PM - Dinner at home, watched our favorite TV shows, laughed out loud with Bubble Gang, and now reminiscing everything that happened throughout the day. Thank You, Lord for the gift of Your love. :) My favorite!

Thank You, Lord for calling me Your beloved. You, too, are my favorite! ♥

Let me sing You this song today, and for always. :)

Salamat sa 'yo aking ama
Salamat sa 'yong mga likha
Salamat sa liwanag ng araw at buwan
Salamat sa 'yo O Diyos

Salamat sa bugtong Mong anak
Salamat sa Kanyang pagliligtas
Salamat sa buhay na walang hanggan
Salamat, salamat sa Iyo

Walang hanggang pasasalamat
Ang sa 'yo’y aking sasambitin
Maging sa huling sandali ng aking buhay
Pasasalamat sa Iyo’y walang hanggan

Salamat sa buhay kong ito
Salamat at ako’y Iyong binago
Salamat sa walang hanggang pag-ibig Mo
Salamat sa 'yo O Diyos

Salamat sa mga magulang ko
Salamat sa mga kapatid ko
Salamat sa lahat ng kaibigan ko
Salamat, salamat sa Iyo

Walang hanggang pasasalamat
Ang sa 'yo’y aking sasambitin
Maging sa huling sandali ng aking buhay
Pasasalamat sa Iyo’y walang hanggan

Salamat sa bawat pagsubok
Salamat sa tibay ng loob
Salamat sa landas ng pagbabago
Salamat sa 'yo O Diyos

Salamat sa wagas na pag-ibig mo
Salamat inibig Mo ako
Salamat sa bawat taong nagmamahal
Salamat, salamat sa Iyo

Walang hanggang pasasalamat
Ang sa 'yo’y aking sasambitin
Maging sa huling sandali ng aking buhay
Pasasalamat sa Iyo’y walang hanggan

Understanding Lupang Hinirang

Every Filipino knows Lupang Hinirang (though some know it better as " Bayang Magiliw "). How can you not know it when it is the national anthem of the Philippines? But do we really mean the lyrics that we sing? Do we understand it in the first place?  Photo Credit:  http://diazi.ism-online.org This video has gone viral weeks ago. This afternoon, I shared it to my teammates, and one commented, "Yun pala yun . Ngayon ko lang naintindihan."   He immediately downloaded it and converted to MP3.   So for those who have not seen it, once again, here is Joey Ayala's version of Lupang Hinirang. And I agree, you would never want to sing it in another way. (But that's just me. :D) This rendition is simply beautiful. Truly Filipino. :) Of course that doesn't mean we need to revise our national anthem but maybe we can consider about correcting the way we sing it (read: proper pronunciation). Jesus Week 2015: A Time To HEAL ♥

I had the best, most meaningful HOLY WEEK ever, so far (the best is yet to come!). :) Thanks to Joy who shared the Jesus Week poster on Facebook. It was God's personal invitation, and I couldn't thank Him enough for the grace that He also gave me to respond. Everything is grace. It was not just my personal decision to join. It was God's grace that allowed me to.  So how did it go? Well, as what I have told my friends, it was amazingly beautiful! The experience was priceless! On Holy Monday, I posted Fr. Jerry Orbos' acronym for HOLY WEEK . I experienced all of that and more! :)  I won't be able to share everything as there is just a lot of personal, intimate encounters with the Lord. But if I were to summarize, it was a time for me to HEAL. :)  H alt . Indeed, I was able to stop and just rest in the Lord. Before leaving Manila, I have already told myself that this retreat will be all about Jesus ( Jesus Week nga e :D ). No emails, no texts, no calls. I

Thank You, Lord! :)

It has been a long and stressful day (the past three days have been lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng and stressssssssssssssssssssssssssssssful), but You are just so amazing, Lord that I couldn't sleep without telling You how grateful I am. :) Thank You, Lord for the miracle that You did yesterday. Break even and more. :) Thank You, Lord for the laughter and stories shared during the post-mission meeting with Team Thailand. :) Team Thailand - Princesses from SFC Metro Manila :) Thank You, Lord for Lawrence. He is just the (almost) perfect man. He has his flaws, but they are acceptable; he makes mistakes, but they are all forgivable. There are a lot of men but there can never be anyone else. He's really the one. And You know it very well. :) ♥ Nemo. Love. ♥ Thank You, Lord for giving me strength and endurance each day. :) Thank You, Lord for the short but restful sleeps. :) Thank You, Lord for every waking moment and every opportunity that You give

The Holy Spirit*

*Cluster 4 Household Topic Reflections from John 15:26-16:4 True friendship is strengthened in adversity. Jesus offers His disciples the best and truest of friends. Who is this promised friend?  Jesus calls the Holy Spirit our Counselor and Advocate (also translated Paraclete or Helper). Counselor is a legal term for the one who will defend someone against an adversary and who guides that person during the ordeal of trial. The Holy Spirit is our Advocate and Helper who brings us safely through the challenges and adversities we must face in this life. As Jesus approaches the hour that He was to be glorified - through His death on the cross and His resurrection - He revealed more fully to His disciples the person and the role of the Holy Spirit. What does Jesus tell us about the Holy Spirit?  First, the Holy Spirit is inseparably one with the Father and the Son. It is the Holy Spirit who gives life - the very life of God - and who kindles faith in hearts receptive
