Though I was (and still am) not feeling well, I thank God for the gift of today. It has been a great day filled with love, grace, and inspiration. ♥
The first thing I did when I arrived at the GMC was to line up for confession. And it was indeed a beautiful moment with my God and with my dear Fr. Benedict who did not just patiently listen to what I had to say, but lovingly reminded me of the truths I might have missed along the rough roads of life. Just like Paolo, he really knows the right words to say and when to say them. I feel loved and understood and cared for every time I talk to people like them. ♥
And of course, there's the beautiful homily of Fr. Benedict during the noon mass. Muntik na naman akong maiyak. Ask. Seek. Knock. :)
Then I had one of the best lunches ever. I left the canteen not just with a full tummy but a full heart as well. I shared the same table with some of the most inspiring men in CFC: Tito Eric Ylagan, Tito Louie Maglaya and Fr. Benedict! Over lunch, we shared about the little things that we can do to make this season more meaningful. From random acts of kindness to beautiful projects which anyone can accomplish (will share details soon). I was so inspired and so amazed at how the Lord truly works mightily even in the smallest of efforts and the simplest of desires. I remember Cardinal Tagle's words, kahit maliit basta malimit, papuntang langit. Yes, consistency is the key.
It was truly one sweet day. Plus the fact that I already updated my relationship status on Facebook. Haha. Yes, it took me more than a month to do so. Not that I am not proud of our relationship, I am. I really am. But I guess I'm just so overwhelmed at how great a man I have right now that I want to keep him for myself. :D And I've also learned my lesson. So I'm keeping my personal life (relationships included) as private as possible. Mas tahimik, mas masaya. ♥
There goes my day. Tomorrow is another battle to fight (and to win with all my might and with lots of God's grace).
So I'm ending this post with a beautiful prayer penned by Tito Eric in one of his morning reflections. :)
A MORNING PRAYER
By Eric P. Ylagan
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of life. I thank You for providing me a restful evening.
Today, as I face a new day, I offer myself to You, my whole being – mind, body and spirit.
Bless my mind, that my thoughts be guided by how You think, how You love.
Bless my eyes, that I may see with Your sight – to behold the beauty of your creation, to see others in need of Your love.
Bless my tongue, that I may speak only of things that will create, that will uplift, that will transform; and, with my speech glorify You.
Bless my hands, that I may be able to reach out to others, to help those who long for compassion and mercy.
Bless my feet, that I may tread in the way that You lead, not my way, but Yours.
But most of all, loving Father, bless my heart – that it will ever remain grateful, open to receive your message and do Your will, not mine, but Yours, in the way that Christ opened His Sacred Heart to obey You and love the people You have created.
And lastly, together with Mary, our Mother, I plead for forgiveness for my failings and shortcomings and that I may, at the end of my day, be worthy of a place in Your heavenly Kingdom.
All these, I ask in faith and humility, now and forever, Amen. ♥
