Thank You, Jesus! :)

It has been an awesome week but the weekend was simply fantastic! :) We left the CFC Center at a little past 1AM of Saturday because we were finishing stuff for the MMLA (2nd Annual David Awards Night). When I woke up that morning, I did some last minute errands for the MMLA and prepared for my CLP talk in the afternoon. Time management at its best indeed. :) After delivering CLP Talk 10 in Napico 1 chapter, we (Lawrence and I) hurried to AFP Theater for the special ICON registration and the MMLA itself. We arrived exactly at 430PM and immediately started to work - unpacked the cartons containing the promo shirts, sorted the shirts, accepted registrations, etc. By 6PM, we were already getting ready for the mass.

During the homily, Father Dave Concepcion shared four power statements

1. Stay focused.
2. Know your priorities.
3. Live a balanced life. (Ora et labora - Pray while you work. Work while you pray.)
4. Do not be afraid to make painful decisions for God.

I have actually heard them during a recollection early this year but it's still a great reminder for me. :) And then the Awards Night happened. The event was so overwhelming and simply indescribable. Truly, the best way to love God is to love His people and the best way to honor Him is to honor the people who have made Him known, who have proclaimed His greatness in their very lives. I was humbled by the stories of the Pedro Calungsod awardees (most of them I know personally and I have no contentions on their titles) and inspired by the example set by the different sectors and individuals. Of course I am proud of East A and I honor my co-workers, the chapter servants, for maintaining a clean data in the Infosystem. :)

After that amazing event, we went to Tapsi ni Vivian to have late lunch, late dinner, and early breakfast. :D I went home around 1AM (again), got some sleep and hoped to wake up early on Sunday.

As expected, I woke up a bit late. But thank God I was still able to participate in the morning worship of the KFC Sector Kids Village. Serving the kids has always been one of my greatest passions and being surrounded by those little angels are among my most treasured joys. And so I thank God for giving me the opportunity to spend this beautiful Sunday with them. :)

By lunch time, we (Kuya Ian, Cat, and I) went to Comida China to attend the post-wedding celebration of Kuya Paulo and Ate Marie-Anne. :) They are one of the most beautiful couples I know and I am a fan of their very inspiring love story. We are just so happy for them that we (Ate Chie and I) were not able to hold back our tears as we watched a preview of their lovely wedding. :)

After enjoying the sumptuous lunch, catching up with one another, and posing for glam photos, we went back to service and ended the day with the kids with a very lively worship. :) It was just fun dancing and singing for the Lord and it's even more inspiring to see little children praising and honoring God too. :)

We were almost ready to go when a tita approached me and told some things which really made me smile and made me even more excited for the future. As I told her, I will pray for that. :)

The SKV ended but the day's not over yet! For dinner, we decided to try out Hainanese Delights (it's Lawrence's first time there) at SM Taytay. I ordered my usual - Chicken Heaven and Sweet Surrender - and as expected, it tasted so good. :) Lawrence loved it there too. :) We couldn't agree more with their tagline: a delightful experience in every bite. :)

Because we were so full, we just walked around the mall and did some window shopping. :D Lawrence then asked if we could drop by at their house to check on the kids. I agreed and did not regret spending the evening with his niece, Giada. :)

I arrived home a little past 11PM. I'm so tired I already wanted to sleep but I am just so grateful and inspired that I couldn't sleep without blogging about God's greatness manifested in the victories of this weekend. :)

For everything that happened, for the gift of life, friendship, love, community, and service, I praise You, Lord! All I can say is THANK YOU, JESUS! ♥

Happy Sunday!

Understanding Lupang Hinirang

Every Filipino knows Lupang Hinirang (though some know it better as " Bayang Magiliw "). How can you not know it when it is the national anthem of the Philippines? But do we really mean the lyrics that we sing? Do we understand it in the first place?  Photo Credit:  http://diazi.ism-online.org This video has gone viral weeks ago. This afternoon, I shared it to my teammates, and one commented, "Yun pala yun . Ngayon ko lang naintindihan."   He immediately downloaded it and converted to MP3.   So for those who have not seen it, once again, here is Joey Ayala's version of Lupang Hinirang. And I agree, you would never want to sing it in another way. (But that's just me. :D) This rendition is simply beautiful. Truly Filipino. :) Of course that doesn't mean we need to revise our national anthem but maybe we can consider about correcting the way we sing it (read: proper pronunciation). Jesus Week 2015: A Time To HEAL ♥

I had the best, most meaningful HOLY WEEK ever, so far (the best is yet to come!). :) Thanks to Joy who shared the Jesus Week poster on Facebook. It was God's personal invitation, and I couldn't thank Him enough for the grace that He also gave me to respond. Everything is grace. It was not just my personal decision to join. It was God's grace that allowed me to.  So how did it go? Well, as what I have told my friends, it was amazingly beautiful! The experience was priceless! On Holy Monday, I posted Fr. Jerry Orbos' acronym for HOLY WEEK . I experienced all of that and more! :)  I won't be able to share everything as there is just a lot of personal, intimate encounters with the Lord. But if I were to summarize, it was a time for me to HEAL. :)  H alt . Indeed, I was able to stop and just rest in the Lord. Before leaving Manila, I have already told myself that this retreat will be all about Jesus ( Jesus Week nga e :D ). No emails, no texts, no calls. I...

Thank You, Lord! :)

It has been a long and stressful day (the past three days have been lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng and stressssssssssssssssssssssssssssssful), but You are just so amazing, Lord that I couldn't sleep without telling You how grateful I am. :) Thank You, Lord for the miracle that You did yesterday. Break even and more. :) Thank You, Lord for the laughter and stories shared during the post-mission meeting with Team Thailand. :) Team Thailand - Princesses from SFC Metro Manila :) Thank You, Lord for Lawrence. He is just the (almost) perfect man. He has his flaws, but they are acceptable; he makes mistakes, but they are all forgivable. There are a lot of men but there can never be anyone else. He's really the one. And You know it very well. :) ♥ Nemo. Love. ♥ Thank You, Lord for giving me strength and endurance each day. :) Thank You, Lord for the short but restful sleeps. :) Thank You, Lord for every waking moment and every opportunity that You give ...

The Holy Spirit*

*Cluster 4 Household Topic Reflections from John 15:26-16:4 True friendship is strengthened in adversity. Jesus offers His disciples the best and truest of friends. Who is this promised friend?  Jesus calls the Holy Spirit our Counselor and Advocate (also translated Paraclete or Helper). Counselor is a legal term for the one who will defend someone against an adversary and who guides that person during the ordeal of trial. The Holy Spirit is our Advocate and Helper who brings us safely through the challenges and adversities we must face in this life. As Jesus approaches the hour that He was to be glorified - through His death on the cross and His resurrection - He revealed more fully to His disciples the person and the role of the Holy Spirit. What does Jesus tell us about the Holy Spirit?  First, the Holy Spirit is inseparably one with the Father and the Son. It is the Holy Spirit who gives life - the very life of God - and who kindles faith in hearts r...
