(Almost) Birthday Wishes

I got this notification last October 1 and yeah, thank God for Facebook which reminds people of stuff they should not forget - anniversaries and birthdays. :) And since my birthday is due in a week's time, I thought of making my simple wish list (since causes  encouraged me to make one). Here it is:  No more lives torn apart And wars would never start And time would heal all hearts And everyone would have a friend And right would always win And love would never end Looks familiar? Well of course, I just copied the lyrics of a popular Christmas song. :D Seriously though, it's part of my wish list - world peace. :) And here are some more: 1. Financial resources - for me to pay my bills, contribute to our monthly expenses (food, rent, and utilities), buy my medicines, and pay for the tests and consultation fees :) 2. Good health for me and the members of my family - negative results, please :) 3. Daily inspiration, motivation and strength - God knows I ...

Simple Joys :)

Here I go again... sick and had no choice but to stay at home and get some rest (which I believe I badly need). But this time it's getting more serious. Because it's already the third time this year that I've been hit with the same disease, I was advised to undergo further tests. I'm scheduled for ultrasound next Tuesday and I'm praying for resources and a negative result. :)  Ask. Believe. Claim. :) Instead of whining and minding about this discomfort and pain, I believe it would be more helpful for me to just reminisce and think of happy thoughts (as Peter Pan would always say). So let me share some of my simple joys since last week. :)  But let me begin with this: PINKerbelle ♥ Lawrence sent this to me more than two years ago with this message:  "Something that can help you fight lagnat. Hehe. Good afternoon. :)" During that time, he was just making small gestures to make me feel special but he hasn't spoken anythin...

Gone Too Soon

One word: Nakakaloko.  I was very excited about the opening of online registration for the 20th SFC ICON. I was busy monitoring stuff when the news broke off. At first I didn't want to believe. But it has been confirmed. Matthew's gone.  This morning, during the Intimacy Weekend PFO walk through, I received messages asking for prayers for Matthew who was, at that time, unstable. He was brought to the hospital along with his other classmates who were hit by huge waves in Boracay. They were there for a field trip, their last I suppose, because if I'm not mistaken, most, if not all of them, are graduating from college (Matthew is taking up HRM at Arellano University).  When I learned about his death this evening, I really didn't know what to say. I didn't and still don't know how to console his grieving family (he is the only son, his sister is also a member of the community and was once part of my lower household). I could hardly believe he's alr...

An Honoring :)

I saw this on my cousin's wall and I decided to read. I just didn't like the accompanying photo and so I decided to post it here. :) I believe the man who wrote this has already attended the Knights Tale Weekend (or read the Princess Diaries manual). Or maybe he has heard Fr. Joel, Christopher West, or Jason Evert before. Or probably he has read the books "Free Love, True Love" and "Pure Manhood."  Whoever he is, I thank God for men like him. :) Some inspiration. :) **************************************************** Author: Jayson Benedicto  SA MGA BABAE, TAKE TIME TO READ. FOR GUYS HOPE YOU READ THIS TOO.

Prayer of A Person Falling in Love (Again) ♥

*This was my prayer two years ago, months before August 13. It was originally posted on Facebook. I am posting it again as a reminder. :) Dear Lord, For three years I took very good care of myself and my heart. I didn’t allow anyone in for I know deep within that I still need healing. In those three years that I was alone, I never felt lonely because You were with me all along. And I thank You for Your love which strengthened and inspired me to go on, move on and forward. Loving Father, it was You who filled the emptiness in me. It was You who healed my brokenness. It was You who made me feel that I am loved no matter who and what I am. And it is because of Your love that I had grown into the person that I am now - more mature, more understanding, more patient, more caring, more loving, simply better than before. It is You who taught me how to truly love. Your love is my example. Your love is my guide. The previous months and weeks have been challenging for me an...

Overwhelming Love ♥

During the Theology of the Body Weekend, God has revealed a lot to me, mostly about myself. On Saturday night I read Jason Evert's Pure Manhood before going to bed. On the way home yesterday, I read Crystalina Evert's Pure Womanhood. I felt like I've gone to three retreats (Theology of the Body, Knights Tale, Princess Diaries) in just one and a half days. I couldn't be more grateful. :) As I reflect on the key messages of this weekend, I can't help but remember my past hurts and brokenness. I already told a little about my "love" journey here  but I never shared the whole story. It was just too ugly that I didn't want to talk about it. Let's just say that I don't have the guts to tell the whole world (at least the readers of this blog) how stupid I was then. I couldn't just accept the fact that I did foolish things for what I thought was "love." And it's frustrating to realize that after all the tears that I cried, the s...
