Simple Joys :)

Here I go again... sick and had no choice but to stay at home and get some rest (which I believe I badly need). But this time it's getting more serious. Because it's already the third time this year that I've been hit with the same disease, I was advised to undergo further tests. I'm scheduled for ultrasound next Tuesday and I'm praying for resources and a negative result. :)

Ask. Believe. Claim. :)

Instead of whining and minding about this discomfort and pain, I believe it would be more helpful for me to just reminisce and think of happy thoughts (as Peter Pan would always say). So let me share some of my simple joys since last week. :)

But let me begin with this:

PINKerbelle ♥

Lawrence sent this to me more than two years ago with this message:

"Something that can help you fight lagnat. Hehe.
Good afternoon. :)"

During that time, he was just making small gestures to make me feel special but he hasn't spoken anything about his feelings yet. Actions speak louder than words, right? :)

Now, my simple joys... :)

On Saturday (September 29), I was invited to deliver the 3rd talk for a Christian Life Program in Pinagsama Village, Taguig. But more than the fulfillment of being able to share Christ and my experience of Him to others, I went home full of inspiration from the sharing of a brother named Monsaint. I actually told him that I felt more nourished with his sharing than with my own talk. :) That's the beauty of community, you get to learn a lot from the lives of other people. :) And what's more joyful about it was that my parents heard the same talk during their own Christian Life Program with Couples for Christ. And while I was waiting for them (I went straight to Rosario Church after my talk in Taguig), the men who were cleaning up the church were singing, "Ang buhay ng Kristiyano ay masayang tunay..." I couldn't help but smile and sing along with them in my mind. :)

Token from a very inspiring chapter. :)

The following day (September 30), it was time for me and Lawrence to unwind and enjoy one of the best things life has to offer: free videoke! :D It was the last day of the Red Box Free Head Charge Promo courtesy of my most favorite planner of all, Belle De Jour! :) We sang our hearts out for more than 4 hours! No food, no drinks, just good music! :)

This will always be part of my playlist. :)

30 Seconds to Mars! :)

His piece. :)

Supposedly the last song. :D

Indeed, it was a fairy tale. :)

By the way, before going to Red Box, we also went to Angono to check the venue for the Intimacy Weekend. He then went to their Christian Life Program while I went home to get some sleep. :) I heard mass with my family (and Lawrence) at Immaculate Conception Parish and then headed to Eastwood. We were also able to witness a biking marathon (I really don't know what it's called. :D) and captured some photos with our very low tech camera. :D

The "best" shot. :D

On October 1, I had a very productive day at work and enjoyed a lot of free food. :) On October 2, Lawrence and I went out for dinner at Greenwich Sta. Lucia because he just won a bucket of 6 pieces crispy glazed chicken! :) But he wasn't contented with that because when he brought me home, he still had dinner with Papa. Just the two of them. Such a beautiful sight. :)

Our nth free dinner. :)

My men and their favorite thing to do. :)

On October 3, we had our PFO walk through for the pilot Intimacy Weekend next month. And here are just some of the highlights of the weekend retreat. (Makes me even more excited.)

And yes, it was on October 4 when I got my warrant of arrest (house arrest). I'm feeling a bit better now, thanks to my doctors, Dra. (Ate) Tin (Lawrence's sister) and Dra. Riza for taking very good care of me. :)

Here's a few more joys:

Indeed a best friend. Lassie. :)

My lovely parents studying their CLP handouts. :)

And to end this post, let me share with you what made my day today:

One of my favorite couples: Ray & Mars ♥

I'm a fan of great love stories and when I read this blog post, I just sighed, smiled, and thanked God for giving my dear sister (and forever friend) the relationship she truly deserves. I know what she has gone through and I'm a follower of her love story. Ray is such a blessing and I am just inspired to witness such a beautiful, well-written story of love, hope, commitment, and kept promises. :)

And those were the things that made my heart smile and say, Life is indeed beautiful! ♥

Thank You for these simple joys and inspirations, Lord. You really never fail to say "I love you." And You just don't say it, you show it. :) I love You, too! ♥

Understanding Lupang Hinirang

Every Filipino knows Lupang Hinirang (though some know it better as " Bayang Magiliw "). How can you not know it when it is the national anthem of the Philippines? But do we really mean the lyrics that we sing? Do we understand it in the first place?  Photo Credit:  http://diazi.ism-online.org This video has gone viral weeks ago. This afternoon, I shared it to my teammates, and one commented, "Yun pala yun . Ngayon ko lang naintindihan."   He immediately downloaded it and converted to MP3.   So for those who have not seen it, once again, here is Joey Ayala's version of Lupang Hinirang. And I agree, you would never want to sing it in another way. (But that's just me. :D) This rendition is simply beautiful. Truly Filipino. :) Of course that doesn't mean we need to revise our national anthem but maybe we can consider about correcting the way we sing it (read: proper pronunciation). Jesus Week 2015: A Time To HEAL ♥

I had the best, most meaningful HOLY WEEK ever, so far (the best is yet to come!). :) Thanks to Joy who shared the Jesus Week poster on Facebook. It was God's personal invitation, and I couldn't thank Him enough for the grace that He also gave me to respond. Everything is grace. It was not just my personal decision to join. It was God's grace that allowed me to.  So how did it go? Well, as what I have told my friends, it was amazingly beautiful! The experience was priceless! On Holy Monday, I posted Fr. Jerry Orbos' acronym for HOLY WEEK . I experienced all of that and more! :)  I won't be able to share everything as there is just a lot of personal, intimate encounters with the Lord. But if I were to summarize, it was a time for me to HEAL. :)  H alt . Indeed, I was able to stop and just rest in the Lord. Before leaving Manila, I have already told myself that this retreat will be all about Jesus ( Jesus Week nga e :D ). No emails, no texts, no calls. I...

Thank You, Lord! :)

It has been a long and stressful day (the past three days have been lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng and stressssssssssssssssssssssssssssssful), but You are just so amazing, Lord that I couldn't sleep without telling You how grateful I am. :) Thank You, Lord for the miracle that You did yesterday. Break even and more. :) Thank You, Lord for the laughter and stories shared during the post-mission meeting with Team Thailand. :) Team Thailand - Princesses from SFC Metro Manila :) Thank You, Lord for Lawrence. He is just the (almost) perfect man. He has his flaws, but they are acceptable; he makes mistakes, but they are all forgivable. There are a lot of men but there can never be anyone else. He's really the one. And You know it very well. :) ♥ Nemo. Love. ♥ Thank You, Lord for giving me strength and endurance each day. :) Thank You, Lord for the short but restful sleeps. :) Thank You, Lord for every waking moment and every opportunity that You give ...

The Holy Spirit*

*Cluster 4 Household Topic Reflections from John 15:26-16:4 True friendship is strengthened in adversity. Jesus offers His disciples the best and truest of friends. Who is this promised friend?  Jesus calls the Holy Spirit our Counselor and Advocate (also translated Paraclete or Helper). Counselor is a legal term for the one who will defend someone against an adversary and who guides that person during the ordeal of trial. The Holy Spirit is our Advocate and Helper who brings us safely through the challenges and adversities we must face in this life. As Jesus approaches the hour that He was to be glorified - through His death on the cross and His resurrection - He revealed more fully to His disciples the person and the role of the Holy Spirit. What does Jesus tell us about the Holy Spirit?  First, the Holy Spirit is inseparably one with the Father and the Son. It is the Holy Spirit who gives life - the very life of God - and who kindles faith in hearts r...
